Mr Mayor, I think that Dr Peter Kim should look up the Regualations with the “NSW Food Authority”. The person who supplies Cooks or Chef’s has an obligation to make sure the People they hire are suitably suitability qualified. They must have a Culinary Food Degree of 2 to 4 years preferred. Prior experience in Food and beverage service and food preparation. And more so have qualification “responsible service of Alchol”

I have had Food poison twice with Chinese or Asian Food. Most people do not report these incidents. I know of several people who have had the same incidents

It is about time a Health Inspector was to make regular checks to stop any unhealthy Food preparation. There are too many incidents where insufficient penalties are applied.

If you desire to operate a Business you must make sure your employees are suitably qualified. Look at the health and safety risk if a Plumber, Electrician, or Builder were not qualified. You cannot expect the Council to train them after they are in business.

Would Dr Peter Kim like somebody operating on him or operating a medical practice with out qualifications. He would be running to the AMA in a flash. So why ask the Council to foot the Bill or train them.

    Hi Jerome,

Early February you were door knocking in our area and we mentioned the pot holes on Burns St & Lucinda Rd, Marsfield.

You said you’ll come back to us about when Ryde Council will fix it.

We’re still waiting for your answer.

    Dear Jerome

It came to our attention that’s you are involve in crimes and corruption and you are spying on the people with connection to other labor politicians and other Education, Instructions, Health, Finance companies. You are cooperating with the criminal businesses and you destroy the Ryde community since 2012 up to now. This is unfair and unethical. Please, note , we would take this issue seriously to the Parliament. Thanks

    Dear Mr. Mayor,

As the organiser of an inclusive community event at the North Ryde Community Church, I invite you to join us at our Twilight Community Market on Saturday, 9th February or Saturday, 9th March. The market is well publicised in Ryde and some of our stall holders and many of our visitors come from the area. We appreciate that you have a busy schedule and this invitation comes at short notice but we would really appreciated if you could come even if for a short time. To enable me to meet you and introduce you to our Minister, Rev. James Aaron, please make yourself known to one of our friendly helpers who will be wearing white and blue branded t-shirts with “Ask Me” on the back.

Thank you in anticipation for considering our invitation.

    Kind regards

Many thanks Jerome for your support to save Macquarie Ice Rink! Yes the Macquarie Olympic size ice rink has been and is a very important venue for people from elite athletes, to ice hockey players, competition, recreation skaters including those who use wheelchairs for mobility

I am 63 years old and have skated at Macquarie Ice Rink for the last 25 years usually at least once weekly, My synchronised skating team Dominoes won the Australian title at the Australian Figure skating championships held at Macquarie Ice Rink in December 2018.

I am surprised that you only learnt about AMP’s plans on 16/01/2019 when council staff have been in communication with AMP for some time about this development plan. – Does this mean council staff do not keep yourself the Mayor informed about such significant development plans?

AMP says there is no room for an Olympic Ice Rink in the redevelopment, but there is room for more shops, and a huge plaza. There are plenty of shops already throughout Ryde City Council area and the whole of Sydney, but only one ice rink on the whole of the northern side of Sydney. AMP seems to think that an Olympic size ice rink is only for elite athletes, but that is not so – Macquarie Ice Rink is flexible and meets the needs of all ice skaters. Australia has grounds for recreation and elite athletes in other sports – cricket, tennis are 2 examples. What about an ice rink?

The Macquarie Ice Rink significantly contributes to the health and wellbeing of the community. AMP appears to only be interested in making money, rather guaranteeing an ice rink will continue to be onsite.

    Dear Mr. Mayor,

As a resident of Macquarie Park from 1980, the days when it was North Ryde, I am appalled at your support for the towers at 112 Talavera Road as evidenced by your denial of a reasonable request for an extension of time for a full consultation to occur.

Your webpage states you are accessible but you are denying the resident population access to due process in protesting this massive over-development of the suburb.

In my time in Macquarie Park I have experienced a massive change in the nature of the suburb such that it now makes access to and from my property in Fontenoy Road extremely difficult during an increasing number of hours during the day.

This development will not only blight the landscape through its visual dominance but will bring an impossible amount of traffic to the already overburdened streets of Waterloo, Talavera, Khartoum and Fontenoy Roads.

Your website states that you " place a great deal of emphasis on fairness and equality". This development is totally unfair to those of us who wish to live an active but peaceful life in the suburb.

The website further states, inter alia, “… that he wants his area to be the best that it can be. He wants the best schools, the best child care, and a fair and affordable housing mix across the City”.

This development goes in the opposite direction for the residents of a large area of Macquarie Park.

Please … use all your endeavours to facilitate an extended consultation period where the primary consideration is given to the residents … not the commercial interests who will then move away once they have achieved their goal.

    Thanking you in anticipation,

    Ken White

    Hi Jerome

My friend and I met with Victor Dominello for coffee today at North Ryde. This was a follow up by Victor after a discussion with one of his people regarding overdevelopment in the Ryde area. His major concern is with the Meriton development in Macquarie Park. We would like to hear the other side of the story and therefore we would like to meet you to discuss the same issue.

    Mr Mayor,

    1. Why have your removed all my comments from your Facebook page? I was simply asking for information on how to have my say in regards to various developments that are being proposed across the region. Do you not believe in the freedom of speech that this great country offers us? Because I do and at the moment you as a public servant are denying me that right!

    2. Thanks for holding an emergency meeting last night to talk about extending the consoultation period when it comes to the development known as Laxale Towers! For a second there I though you were actually going to stop the over development that you say you stand for. I don’t understand why you yet again would not allow more time on this? Clearly you are in support of the towers? Can you tell me one way or another if you support the towers or not? Surely having towers named after you hasn’t gotten to your head, your a better man than that, well at least I though so, but you seem to be proving me wrong!

    I await your detailed reply!

I am appalled that you have allowed the high development and high rise Meriton towers to be built in Ryde, and in particular, the 45 and 60 level towers. We do not need or want towers of this height. It will only set a precedent for the same type of development. We already have a lot of new apartment towers currently being built in Ryde! or haven’t you noticed?

Also, these extra Meriton towers will create further strain on local infrastructure, more traffic and more pollution. Furthermore, they are ugly and will create such a blight on the skyline forever changing it detrimentally.

I’m pretty upset and worried that you’ve done this Jerome Laxale. And I’m rightly very annoyed as well.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you on this urgent and important matter.

I am writing with regard to the plan to display detailed promotional material for a horse racing event on the Opera House later this year (refer:

I was bewildered to read of Labor leader Luke Foley’s support for this plan. Promoting a gambling event on this national icon is inappropriate, crass and sets very poor precendent. I really thought the Labor party; the party that I consistently vote for, the party that brought us the Opera house through Joe Cahilll; I really thought that you would be better than this.

The fact that both leaders saw fit to question the decision made by the CEO of the Opera Trust and overrule in favour of commercial interest is extremely disappointing. EXTREMELY. DISAPPOINTING.

What a slap in the face to every member of the NSW community that has respect for this cultural icon and it’s beautiful design. Every member of the community that has seen friends and family struggle with gambling.

May I please ask that you raise these concerns with the Opposition Leader, and that you respond to me to clarify why the Labor party decided to publicly disrespect the judgement of the Opera Trust in favour of the gambling industry.

    The hours of work for this development are as follows;

    7 Hours for construction

Construction may only be carried out between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm on Monday to

Saturday and no construction is to be carried out at any time on a Sunday or a public holiday.

For your information I have also attached a copy of the link to Council’s web site that explains the role of the certifier

I also advise that any issues relating to safety of the site should be directed to the builder, and if not resolved is a matter under the control of Work Safe NSW.

    To the Mayor,

After visiting all schools in the Ryde Council area this year I am wanting to know if any changes have been implemented to increase safety and reduce congestion around schools.

I was unable to attend the onsite meeting at West Ryde Primary but did submit an online view via your website, however this has, to date, not been acknowledged by the council.

Today, yet again, I was unable to enter my driveway at 6 Bennett Street West Ryde, at 5.30pm, as a parent collecting their child from after care was parked across my driveway. His wife exited the car and he refused to move saying “he was doing nothing wrong and was allowed to park there” I am aware that double parking is not illegal however the engine was turned off which would imply he was not just ‘double parking’, at first he refused to move to let me onto my property. It wasn’t until we had debated that matter and traffic was blocked in both direction that he moved back a meter, into my neighbours drive, to allow me to enter my driveway.

I have attached photos of this incident and would like my email and concerns acknowledged by the Council and this man advised he cannot park in driveways in our street.

    Kind regards,

    Fiona Collins

    Dear Lord Mayor,

I have been giving a running around to look for a very simply solution to solve my damaged gutter crossing. Your council staffs were directing me to different organisations and given me different reasons. Here are the unfulfilled, uneventful and wasting time dealing with your staffs:

o November 2017 first reported to Mr. Sam Karakaidos (your ref D17/153638), where he advised to the damage to the drive way was due to normal wear a tear, however, since then, there has been significantly more damage to the gutter crossing.

o April 2018 – Due to the increase in damage, I approached Ryde council again and was instructed to contact Mr. Stephen Toohey of c/- Local Certification. I had a number of telephone conversations with Kristy in hopes of getting in touch with Mr. Stephen without success. 1 May 2018, I was then advised to contact Chris Donavon, where he had advised I should contact the developer/owner regarding this matter.

o 11 May 2018, I managed to get in contact with the owner of the property however he was not able to reach any remediation and he advised me to contact the council.

o To avoid any neighbourhood conflict; on 22 May 2018, I wrote to you and Mr. Cormica wrote to me and saying the gutter crossing caused by ageing, wear and tear and poor workmanship. The gutter was constructed by the approved council contractor. I should not be responsible for the poor workmanship.

o Today 22/6/18 – I visited council again. Your staff told me I should contact the state MP because the gutter regulation is under the state law.

From the above occurrences, I realised that none of staffs know who is ultimately responsible for this issue.

What should I do now? Should I contact Mr. Victor Dominello for this issue?

Could I make an appointment to see you and settle this once and for all? I have wasted a lot my time and stress over this issue.

As your flyer said SOSSAVE our Streets’, Lord Mayor please ‘ SAVE my Gutter Crossing’.

    Yours faithfully,

    Francis Heng

Dear Jerome, as a resident of Eastwood. like many other older residents, I was appalled to find that Sydney bus transport has altered the 545 Parramatta to Chatswood bus route so that buses no longer stop at the Macquarie bus interchange outside the entrance to the centre. Now the bus stops further away in Waterloo Road which involves a struggle uphill for the elderly people and then a difficult walk back to Macquarie Centre. As most of us in the Eastwood area who rely on this bus route to reach our Doctors in the centre, to do our shopping or just meet friends and take in a movie, it is a huge blow as those with walking sticks and walkers are faced with a real difficulty to reach the centre entrance. Who in their right mind at Sydney buses would inflict such a penalty on the elderly of Eastwood? Is there any way this altered route can be reversed?

    Regards etc.,
