    Hi Jerome

My friend and I met with Victor Dominello for coffee today at North Ryde. This was a follow up by Victor after a discussion with one of his people regarding overdevelopment in the Ryde area. His major concern is with the Meriton development in Macquarie Park. We would like to hear the other side of the story and therefore we would like to meet you to discuss the same issue.

    Regards

    Mr Mayor,

    1. Why have your removed all my comments from your Facebook page? I was simply asking for information on how to have my say in regards to various developments that are being proposed across the region. Do you not believe in the freedom of speech that this great country offers us? Because I do and at the moment you as a public servant are denying me that right!

    2. Thanks for holding an emergency meeting last night to talk about extending the consoultation period when it comes to the development known as Laxale Towers! For a second there I though you were actually going to stop the over development that you say you stand for. I don’t understand why you yet again would not allow more time on this? Clearly you are in support of the towers? Can you tell me one way or another if you support the towers or not? Surely having towers named after you hasn’t gotten to your head, your a better man than that, well at least I though so, but you seem to be proving me wrong!

    I await your detailed reply!

    Thanks,

    Morgan

    Hello Jerome,

I would like to hear your position on R2 zoning and medium density housing in the North Ryde area for the 2019 election and beyond? I have a property which is currently zoned R2 and I am concerned the opening up of this rating will effect our property value.

Look forward to hearing from you.

I am appalled that you have allowed the high development and high rise Meriton towers to be built in Ryde, and in particular, the 45 and 60 level towers. We do not need or want towers of this height. It will only set a precedent for the same type of development. We already have a lot of new apartment towers currently being built in Ryde! or haven’t you noticed?

Also, these extra Meriton towers will create further strain on local infrastructure, more traffic and more pollution. Furthermore, they are ugly and will create such a blight on the skyline forever changing it detrimentally.

I’m pretty upset and worried that you’ve done this Jerome Laxale. And I’m rightly very annoyed as well.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you on this urgent and important matter.

I am writing with regard to the plan to display detailed promotional material for a horse racing event on the Opera House later this year (refer: https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/gladys-berejiklian-hands-racing-nsw-alan-jones-victory-in-opera-house-battle-20181005-p50837.html).

I was bewildered to read of Labor leader Luke Foley’s support for this plan. Promoting a gambling event on this national icon is inappropriate, crass and sets very poor precendent. I really thought the Labor party; the party that I consistently vote for, the party that brought us the Opera house through Joe Cahilll; I really thought that you would be better than this.

The fact that both leaders saw fit to question the decision made by the CEO of the Opera Trust and overrule in favour of commercial interest is extremely disappointing. EXTREMELY. DISAPPOINTING.

What a slap in the face to every member of the NSW community that has respect for this cultural icon and it’s beautiful design. Every member of the community that has seen friends and family struggle with gambling.

May I please ask that you raise these concerns with the Opposition Leader, and that you respond to me to clarify why the Labor party decided to publicly disrespect the judgement of the Opera Trust in favour of the gambling industry.

Good Day Jerome. I Am just Reporting that all the lights at Ryde Wharf Reserve and Parsonage St. were ’ off ’ tonight. I Don’t know if it is an Electrical problem or if They have been switched off by Council or other party. Many People use this ‘Square’ at night for socializing and Exercising! ( Myself included) . To the Mayor,

After visiting all schools in the Ryde Council area this year I am wanting to know if any changes have been implemented to increase safety and reduce congestion around schools.

I was unable to attend the onsite meeting at West Ryde Primary but did submit an online view via your website, however this has, to date, not been acknowledged by the council.

Today, yet again, I was unable to enter my driveway at 6 Bennett Street West Ryde, at 5.30pm, as a parent collecting their child from after care was parked across my driveway. His wife exited the car and he refused to move saying “he was doing nothing wrong and was allowed to park there” I am aware that double parking is not illegal however the engine was turned off which would imply he was not just ‘double parking’, at first he refused to move to let me onto my property. It wasn’t until we had debated that matter and traffic was blocked in both direction that he moved back a meter, into my neighbours drive, to allow me to enter my driveway.

I have attached photos of this incident and would like my email and concerns acknowledged by the Council and this man advised he cannot park in driveways in our street.

    Kind regards,

    Fiona Collins

    Hi,

I am mom that lives in North Ryde and have some complaints about my child care rebate and paid maternity live due to my visa conditions.

I would like my complaint to be escalated and delivered at a higher level.

Centre link told me to contact my local mayor but not sure if this is the right contact to do so.

Would you be able to confirm if this is the best way to do so otherwise, if possible, would you know how to raise my concern?

    Thanks,

    Subject: Your ref: D17/153638

    Dear Lord Mayor,

I have been giving a running around to look for a very simply solution to solve my damaged gutter crossing. Your council staffs were directing me to different organisations and given me different reasons. Here are the unfulfilled, uneventful and wasting time dealing with your staffs:

o November 2017 first reported to Mr. Sam Karakaidos (your ref D17/153638), where he advised to the damage to the drive way was due to normal wear a tear, however, since then, there has been significantly more damage to the gutter crossing.

o April 2018 – Due to the increase in damage, I approached Ryde council again and was instructed to contact Mr. Stephen Toohey of c/- Local Certification. I had a number of telephone conversations with Kristy in hopes of getting in touch with Mr. Stephen without success. 1 May 2018, I was then advised to contact Chris Donavon, where he had advised I should contact the developer/owner regarding this matter.

o 11 May 2018, I managed to get in contact with the owner of the property however he was not able to reach any remediation and he advised me to contact the council.

o To avoid any neighbourhood conflict; on 22 May 2018, I wrote to you and Mr. Cormica wrote to me and saying the gutter crossing caused by ageing, wear and tear and poor workmanship. The gutter was constructed by the approved council contractor. I should not be responsible for the poor workmanship.

o Today 22/6/18 – I visited council again. Your staff told me I should contact the state MP because the gutter regulation is under the state law.

From the above occurrences, I realised that none of staffs know who is ultimately responsible for this issue.

What should I do now? Should I contact Mr. Victor Dominello for this issue?

Could I make an appointment to see you and settle this once and for all? I have wasted a lot my time and stress over this issue.

As your flyer said SOSSAVE our Streets’, Lord Mayor please ‘ SAVE my Gutter Crossing’.

    Yours faithfully,

    Francis Heng

Dear Jerome, as a resident of Eastwood. like many other older residents, I was appalled to find that Sydney bus transport has altered the 545 Parramatta to Chatswood bus route so that buses no longer stop at the Macquarie bus interchange outside the entrance to the centre. Now the bus stops further away in Waterloo Road which involves a struggle uphill for the elderly people and then a difficult walk back to Macquarie Centre. As most of us in the Eastwood area who rely on this bus route to reach our Doctors in the centre, to do our shopping or just meet friends and take in a movie, it is a huge blow as those with walking sticks and walkers are faced with a real difficulty to reach the centre entrance. Who in their right mind at Sydney buses would inflict such a penalty on the elderly of Eastwood? Is there any way this altered route can be reversed?

    Regards etc.,

    Dear Mayor

I have read your report to Council, and I understand your concern about the extent of housing in the Ryde area.

There are lots of great things about Ryde and being about to have a house on a good block on land is one of them.

But it seems you are not serious in fixing this mess. The hypocrisy in your report is unbelievable. Your Council zoned the land to allow villas, townhouses and dual occupancies all over Ryde.

THE VERY THING YOU HAVE THE POWER TO DO YOU WON”T DO…… DELETE MULTI_DWELLING HOUSING FROM THE R2 ZONE IN THE LEP. INCREASE THE MINIMUM LOT SIZE FOR DUAL OCCUPANCIES TO DOUBLE THE STANDARD LOT SIZE SO ONLY LARGE LOTS GET DUAL OCCUPANCIES

These two things will completely nullify the effect of the Medium Density Housing Code.

But in your report it says you won’t do this because it will affect land values.

THE LAND ONLY HAS THIS VALUE BECAUSE YOUR LEP ALLOWS POTENTIAL REDEVELOPMENT.

If as you say, the LEP does not allow this – then CHANGING THE LEP WON”T AFFECT LAND VALUES.

My reading of the new State Policy is that it only allows development where Council have zoned it. IF IT IS NOT ZONED THEN NO ONE CAN BUILD IT.

How can people support you if your actions do you match your rhetoric.

You do have power to change your LEP – you don’t have power to change a state policy – that only is a problem because of the mistakes of former Councillors

Jerome, Is there any validity in the rumors that Optus and another large company at the Macquarie

Park Industrial area are going to be afforded the opportunity to Park their motor vehicles on the 1950 designated and Gazetted County Road at the entrance off Adelphi Street, Marsfield and be conveyed to their work place by a private Bus company. So that they may be afforded privileged parking opportunity when the Railway closes down for several months for further renovations and local residents and employees in the effected areas will have to rely on Government Bus Transport . If residents and workers have to be inconvenienced by these alterations. Why are these Private companies afforded this opportunity.

We don’t charge for each task. What kind of work do you need on a regular basis? Let me know and I’ll share my portfolio with you.

In relation to the wildlife and non wildlife currently living in Ivanhoe Place, is there a plan for them as there are bush turkeys and possums living there as well. I understand that the humans are the ultimate priority but I hope there is something that can be done for all the animals that call Ivanhoe Place home.

    Jerome,

I would like to ascertain your perspective on the operation of the ferries on the Parramatta River. Clearly, they represent a significant public transport facility as well as one of the few ways that ordinary citizens can enjoy our river. At the same time, as you will well know from your time with the Parramatta River Catchment Authority, their wakes have done many millions of dollars of damage to the foreshore.

At a “meet the candidates” session last state election, I asked you all to respond to the suggestion that ferries not operating peak hour services should operate at reduced speed to minimise wake damage. Victor Dominello described this suggestion as “eminently doable!” After the election, I approached his office and eventually received a reply from a public servant contradicting the government’s own reports and stating, without evidence, that the erosion damage was not caused by the ferry operations.

    Where do you stand?

    Regards

    Hi Jerome

I like to meet with you re Belmore st Rd between Park sts and Allen st re roadworks completed some 12 months ago and still hasn’t been complete even after contact council about trip hazards and road surface. They promised it would get fixed but to date, nothing has happened my concern is someone is going and to injury, them selfs seriously.

The other I raised with council re a disable parking sigh outside No 3 Belmore the owner of the property uses it as her own park spot because she has a disable parking permit since the work in street has been we have lost 3 parking spots in the street and staff from the shopping center use Belmore street for parking to avoid to park fees at the shopping reducing parking for locals the removal of a disable parking zone would help.

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss these issues as council avoid to move on these issues .
