In 2018, NSW Minister for Transport and Infrastructure the Hon. Andrew Constance MP, along with NSW Minister for Customer Service and Member for Ryde, the Hon. Victor Dominello MP, cut the express train service to Eastwood and Burwood. They did so without any warning, signage or communication to the affected communities about the imminent service cut. This cruel cut has not only impacted on local commuters, but also local small businesses and their employees.

Please sign the below petition to join my letter to Victor Dominello MP, calling on his Government to reinstate the Eastwood Express Train Service.

Eastwood's train commuters now wait longer for train options and are forced to bear the burden of Sydney Trains' congested, delayed and increasingly unsatisfactory service, especially under increased staff cuts.

Without an express service, the trains which frequent Eastwood are often at peak capacity and peak hour platform conditions are more crowded, despite the need for social distancing more than ever.

As Eastwood and nearby suburbs are forced to carry the burdens of a State Government determined to deliver for property developers, all residents and businesses deserve additional infrastructure, let alone the same services they had up before they were cut in 2018.

Please sign the below petition to join my letter to Victor Dominello MP, calling on his Government to reinstate the Eastwood Express Train Service.

Dear Hon. Mr Dominello MP,

In 2018, your Government cut the express service from the Eastwood and Burwood train stations.

Given the impact on the businesses and residents of Eastwood and all nearby suburbs, along with the phenomenal increase in housing in our local area and the pressing need for social distancing, please reverse the cuts and return the much needed Express Service to your constituents.

Without the express train service, Eastwood's train commuters now wait far longer for train connections and a significant amount of commuters are forced into unnecessary and unsafe bottle necks on the Sydney Trains' congested, delayed and under-funded service.

This is despite Eastwood acting as a major transport hub on the Northern Line prior to the 2018 cuts, with bus connections to the CBD, Parramatta, Ryde, Auburn, Macquarie Centre and Chatswood.

With a significant commercial centre and nearby housing approved around the station, the Eastwood and Burwood Express service allows an efficient and significant flow of commuters into the CBD within twenty minutes. Due to service and staff cuts and frequent track work, the trip now takes residents up to 40 minutes.

Eastwood's commuters and businesses demand fast, reliable and regular train services.

Please listen to the interests of the people you represent.

Please bring back the Express Eastwood Service.

A concerned local.
